Site Review: Chegg.com

Chegg.com

College students for the longest time have been looking for alternatives to purchasing their books. Even new books become useless after a semester due to edition changes; students are left with no choice, but to keep the books. This year I decided to try something different, rather than purchase my books, I rented them. Chegg.com was the site that I keptĀ  hearing about over and over again. I had to see what the fuss was all about.

The website was very simple and easy to navigate. Just go to the homepage, Chegg.com, and search for your books by either the ISBN number, or the titles of the textbook-its that easy. Once the book is found, Chegg gives you a choice of rental terms, quarterly or by semester. You can even add more days to cover finals, projects…etc. Another neat feature is that for every book you rentĀ  Chegg plants a tree. Very environmentally friendly company.

After you have chosen your books, instead of being prompted to create a whole new profile; Chegg allows you to log in with your Facebook profile, making the ordering process that much easier. The shipping is also free when you send the books back. This is the best way to save hundreds of dollars every year on textbook costs and also being proactive in the environment.
